|09:39 pm - Announcement - Elfwood Rules|
Eliza has made an important announcement in elfwoodrules relating to a change in the official Elfwood rules. You can also see this announcement on the main Elfwood page.
Also, by popular demand the Moderators Dictionary is now public, and is linked from the rules in detail page on Elfwood for any members to refer to.

Unrelated to the above post, I'm sorry, but I have a question. On the Extranet, when it says something like "There are 90 moderators, of which 44 have been active in the past 5 days", I usually see that it's about always 50% or so. Is it usually the same folks muscling through the queues, with some mods helping out now and again, or are there some who just don't have the time to hit tickets as much as they'd like? Also, why is this statistic made available?
I'm just curious, no malice intended here.

It varies. At any one time, we always have people away on holiday or sitting exams, or dealing with real life stuff.
It's not uncommon for mods to take a week or so off every now and then.
We do have a core group of mods who are extremely dedicated and will constantly mod, and then we have those who pitch in when they can.
There is no requirement for how often people moderate, as long as they get at least a few tickets done each week.
The statistic is available because we want people to be aware of the times when we're a little short staffed, and because it can indicate times when the queue may be a little longer.
